“WrestleMania can bring a legend back from the dead.”
Those words during John Cena’s Monday Night Raw promo have everyone in The WWE Universe frantically speculating that the rumors are true and John Cena is really set to face The Undertaker at this year’s show of shows. Of course the only problem with this is that The Undertaker seemingly retired at last year’s WrestleMania, after losing to Roman Reigns in the main event, but there are still rumblings that The Deadman will return for one more match.
The original rumor was that John Cena and The Undertaker would have some kind of confrontation at Raw 25 in January, but that idea fell flat when The Undertaker and John Cena were involved in different segments during the anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw. Not only that, the two top tier superstars weren’t even in the same arena for the star studded show.
With that being said, there is another rumor going around that if the match between The Undertaker and John Cena does indeed take place, it will be set up after The Elimination Chamber pay per view in February. No word yet on how that match will be set up or how exactly they would explain Undertaker coming out of retirement for one more match, but its definitely something fun to speculate about.
In the end, maybe WWE put that in John Cena’s promo in order to tease fans about the dream match up and may have no intention of actually following up on it. I
