Did anyone else notice something weird about Raw this week?
Don’t get me wrong, it was a decent show in its own right, maybe not to the quality that fans would have wanted before The Payback pay per view takes place this Sunday, but it did achieve its purpose of furthering many storylines on the red brand. With that being said, the dumpster match between Bruan Strowman and Kalisto, which was announced by General Manager, Kurt Angle, before Raw took place on Monday, didn’t seem like it furthered anything at all and was an ill-timed mess of a segment from beginning t o end.
It also seemed like like the ending of the match didn’t go as planned and that it was actually Strowman that was supposed to win the match and then push Kalisto off the ramp in a post-match beatdown. Unfortunately for Strowman, a timely drop kick by Kalisto, forced the monster among men to lose his balance and fall feet first in the garbage can. The WWE officials then looked on confused for a moment before being forced to ring t the bell and announce that Kalisto had won the match.
The beatdown afterward also looked a little forced and ill-planned, with Kalisto getting tossed around like a rag doll a bit before Strowman moved forward with throwing Kalisto into the trash can, locking it and then pushing it off the stage ramp moments later. Of course, it might never be known what exactly the plan was for that match, but with the hesitation by WWE officials to ring the bell when Strowman dropped into the trashcan and the general confusion between everyone involved in the segment, made it look like this wasn’t supposed to happen.
With that being said, it will be interesting to see what Vince McMahon’s reaction was to this finish and how it will affect Strowman’s chances of defeating Reigns at Payback. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below and if Vince McMahon would be upset with Strowman if the finish of the match was botched!
