That was short.
NXT superstars have pulled off some pretty amazing feats over the years on the main roster. Take The Shield for example, who went undefeated for months in The WWE and would later go on to defeat The Wyatt Family and Evolution. It was a magical time in WWE to say the least. No one could touch them, they constantly got booked to beat up former WWE legends, including The Rock, and they also had a pretty good record at WrestleMania as well. With all that in mind, it is a good sign that WWE likes you when they choose to book you so strongly for months.
Unfortunately for Samoa Joe, his debut seemed to have less of an impact on the main roster than originally expected and will reportedly be taking his first main roster loss at Payback later this month. Of course, it’s not all bad, as Seth Rollins is apparently preparing a new finishing move to take out Triple H’s former crony, but it doesn’t negate the fact that Joe will most likely be taking a pinfall loss at Payback. According to Cagesideseats.com,”The finisher Seth Rollins is trying out (see it here) will likely make its on-screen debut at Payback when it beats Samoa Joe.”
While it can’t be confirmed at this time, it is believed that this has something to do with the negative fan reception that Samoa Joe received prior to WrestleMania 33. He was apparently supposed to take part in a meet in greet with fans, but the event was canceled early due to poor fan response. Samoa Joe also didn’t appear at WrestleMania 33, which could be another solid sign of WWE not knowing what to do with him right now.  That said, Vince McMahon probably doesn’t see the potential in him right now and will have to warm up to him again.
