I think we all know where this is going.
While WWE Insiders foolishly reported last week that it would be John Cena that would eventually draw the ire of Roman Reigns and kick of their blockbuster feud for Summerslam, more details are now emerging and it looks like Roman Reigns Summerslam plans might take a little bit of a detour. In fact, Roman Reigns might not even need to wait until Summerslam, as his next opponent might be looking him right in the face next week on Raw and it just might lead to a feud at Great Balls of Fire.
With that being said, it has been reported by The Wrestling Observer that Bruan Strowman was clear to return sometime last week but the company wanted to hold off on it for some reason. That reason seems to have become a lot clearer though after it was announced that Roman Reigns would be discussing his plans for Summerslam on next week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. While The WWE could always go with Cena versus Reigns at Summerslam, which would truly be one of the greatest and most anticipated matches of the year, he could be set up in a feud with Strowman at Great Balls of Fire.
Again, just speculation and going off of what seems to be the best option for WWE right now and while a storyline with John Cena would be absolutely tantalizing to see and force The WWE Universe to take sides in the battle of the biggest stars the company has to offer, WWE would be remised if they didn’t try to end things between Reigns and Strowman first. Of course, fans thought it was the end when Strowman emerged victorious against Reigns at Payback a month ago, but an untimely injury to Strowman’s shoulder completely halted that plan.
