Five WWE News Stories You May Have Missed This Week

John Cena’s new WrestleMania 34 opponent

Looks like Big Match John will compete at WrestleMania 34 after all.

While John Cena may have lost his opportunity at The Universal Title and could be on his way to losing his opportunity at The WWE title as well, everyone already knew that WWE wouldn’t leave John Cena out of WrestleMania on purpose. In fact, it is being said that WWE is bringing in a former World Heavyweight champion for Cena to take on at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Per WWE sources, Rey Mysterio is backstage working out details tonight at SmackDown for a match at WrestleMania. The rumored opponent is John Cena.” Of course that probably spoils the result for The Fastlane main event, but it is also a very interesting rumor to be putting out right now with some reporters saying that Undertaker versus John Cena is still the plan at WrestleMania 34.

Which outcome turns out taking place remains to be seen and will be highly dependent on how truthful each rumor is, but it is at least safe to say that John Cena versus Undertaker is a little bit more of a long shot then what it already was. Not only that, it is also worth mentioning that it is interesting to see WWE bring in a former superstar to work with Cena, especially with Cena versus a younger star would be much more useful to the overall product.
