Its almost time for The Road to WrestleMania to start.
While the official kickoff to The Road of WrestleMania is still a little ways away, that hasn’t stopped The WWE Universe and the media from predicting early favorites to win the 30 man over the top rope Royal Rumble Match. Of course its easy to see the reason for the rampant speculation regarding the annual match, especially since the winner gets a guaranteed title shot and the chance to main event WrestleMania 34, but fans might not be happy when they find out who other media outlets are predicting as the early favorites to win the match.
According to Cagesideseats.com,”Early favorites to win the men’s Royal Rumble, according to betting sites like Paddy Power, include John Cena, Roman Reigns, Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins” With that being said, Shinsuke Nakamura, Seth Rollins and Aj Styles seem like great options and a wonderful way to help the build up to WrestleMania 34 reach a feverish pitch, but one has to wonder if WWE would actually choose to go the controversial route with either John Cena or Roman Reigns instead.
Sure, John Cena winning another Royal Rumble match and thus another title seems like a very unlikely option, especially with the heat WWE knows taht would follow a decision like that, but the company might still be too into Roman Reigns right now to realize that him winning the match could have devastating effects to the build to WrestleMania 34. Then again, maybe the reunion of The Shield will mitigate that risk to some degree and they can use that to make Reigns more popular then ever, but if they fail in doing so, its just going to be another disaster and another lackluster WrestleMania season.
