That has to be the question that The WWE Universe is asking itself after Brock Lesnar disposed of Bruan Strowman at No Mercy and is now seemingly without an opponent for Raw’s next pay per view. While some are probably thinking that Strowman will challenge Brock Lesnar a third time for his Universal champion, which would be a pretty good way to end the feud, it seems that the clean finish during the match between Lesnar and Strowman as No Mercy seems to indicate that Strowman is no longer the guy that WWE wants in the title picture.
Who’s next though? According to The Wrestling Observer,” WWE could be set to hand The Demon a one-on-one Universal Championship shot at the title that he never lost back in the Summer of 2016. This shot will come after Balor has finished up his current feud with Bray Wyatt, which could see its climax at TLC next month. Meltzer speculates as to whether the plan is for the match to happen at Survivor Series or possibly next year at the Royal Rumble, since it is thought that Brock Lesnar may not wrestle on pay-per-view again until 2018.”
The only problem with the theory, as much as fans probably want to believe it is true, is that fans are probably going to have to wait quite a while before Lesnar versus Finn Balor actually ends up happening. Of course a lot of that has to do with the fact that Balor is still entangled in a weird mini feud with Goldust and Bray Wyatt, but according to Meltzer, it also appears that WWE is saving the feud for early next year at The Royal Rumble pay per view event. This means that Lesnar may not be competing again until early 2018, which might sour interest in upcoming pay per view’s this year.
What are your thoughts? Can WWE save this feud for later on down the road, or should they hold it at TLC or Survivor Series as Raw’s main event for the evening. Let us know in the comments below!
